Welcome to Sails and Trails! We are committed to providing you with a safe and enjoyable boat rental experience. Please read our rental policy carefully before making your reservation.
Eligibility requirements
Age: Renters must be at least 21 years old to rent a boat. Valid ID is required.
Navigation License: Renters must have a valid boat license if required by local regulations.
Experience: Renters are expected to have previous experience on the boat or must attend a short training program provided by our staff.
Reservation and payment
Reservations: Reservations can be made online or by phone. A valid credit card is required to secure your reservation.
Deposit: A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm the booking. The remaining amount is payable up to 4 days before the rental date.
Payment methods: We accept credit cards, debit cards and cash. Personal checks are not accepted.
Rental duration
Boats are available for hourly, half-day, full-day or multi-day rentals. The length of the rental must be specified at the time of booking.
Delayed returns will bring additional charges per hour.
Safety Regulations
Life jackets: There are life jackets on board for all passengers.
Safety Briefing: A safety briefing will be provided prior to departure. Renters must acknowledge that they understand safety procedures and equipment.
Alcohol Consumption: Alcohol consumption is permitted but must be done responsibly. Renters are responsible for ensuring that all passengers comply with laws regarding alcohol consumption while boating.
Instructions for use
Authorized Use: Boats must be used for recreational purposes only and may not be used for commercial activities, racing, or towing other boats or persons without prior consent.
Fishing and Wildlife: Renters must comply with local fishing and wildlife regulations. Any required fishing permits must be obtained by the renter.
Damage and Liability: Renters are responsible for any damage to the boat or equipment during the rental period. A deposit may be held to cover any potential damages.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations made at least 4 days prior to the rental date will receive a full refund of the deposit.
Cancellations made between 3 -2 days prior to the rental date will receive a 50% refund of the total payment.
Cancellations made less than 2 days prior to the rental date will result in forfeiture of the total payment amount.
In the event of adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel rentals with a full refund.

By signing the rental agreement and/or accepting the rental of the vessel, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to abide by this rental policy.
